Clearly, RockLove Jewelry is taking over all of your favorite fandoms. A week after debuting their Star Trek collection at New York Comic-Con, RockLove announced an exciting collaboration with Kushiel’s Legacy author Jacqueline Carey: the Phèdre’s Marque Necklace, depicting her iconic roses-and-thorns marque.
You’ve got to love the attention to detail: The necklace is inscribed with Blessed Elua’s precept of “love as thou wilt” on the back, and comes on a velvet chain that can be worn as a choker (bringing to mind Phèdre’s own significant piece of jewelry, Melisande’s diamond) or worn long.
RockLove founder and jeweler Allison Hourcade shared her personal history with Carey’s work:
When her first novel, Kushiel’s Dart, was published by Tor Books in 2001, I was the influential age of 16… and the strength, poise, and passion of outcast Phèdre nó Delaunay spoke to me deeply. There are a handful of books each of us internalize as teenagers, and on my emotional bookshelf stands Ms. Carey’s work.
All proceeds go to the Saugatuck-Douglas District Library, Carey’s local library.

OMG WANT
When I read the design of Phèdre’s Marque in the book, I don’t see the image of the book. The cover and this necklace are lovely, but they are not the marque. I see a much more elaborate whole back design. But I understood the limitations of cover art and why we have this simple knot work and rose pattern.
@2, I completely agree. It goes from the base of her back to the nape of her neck. It should also have thorns along the vines instead of just the flechette blades at the top, and it’s missing the red drops of blood.
However, I still want it
Obviously, Aeryl, you need both the necklace and the tat.
@@.-@, Of course, but the necklace will hold me over til then
LOL. It’s just a matter of the right people reading this thread.
omg I want it so badddd!!! *o* amazing
